History of OLMA(Our Lady of Manaoag Montessori College)

Our Lady Of Manaoag Montessori College (OLMA), formerly Don Martin Montessori College, in San Juan Balagtas in Bulacan marks another milestone in its colorful history with another foundation day celebration on February 26, 27 and 28, 2007. A relatively new school – but a pioneering one in its area – OLMA is owned and run by couple Mr. Fernando A. Capili and Mary Jane M. Capili. The couple conceived a Montessori school offering high standard of education with competent professors and instructors, standard facilities but affordable tuition fees.

After getting the government permit from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), the school initially offered Pre Elementary and Elementary Education. The school got the government recognition in 2000 for secondary education starting with only 100 students.

The Our Lady of Manaoag Montessori College in Balagtas, Bulacan. In 2000, the Don Martin Montessori College Division started with one course, the Associate in Hotel and Restaurant Management, with only 12 students enrolled. A year after, enrollees grew to 35 students and on the third year, the enrollees soared to about 350.

The school is now offering several courses: Hotel and Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, Care Giver Course, Information Technology, Computer Secretarial and Computer Programming, which are accredited with the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

After the school secured more permits other courses like Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the school administration decided to change the name of the school into Our Lady of Manaoag Montessori College (OLMA) as part of its expansion. This too, is a way to bringing back the glory to the founders' patron Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan, although the institution is a non-sectarian school.
